Production Team

Julie Reichert (Producer, Director, Writer) has a lifelong interest in storytelling that began with her family’s devotion to theater and continued through publication of her own stories and essays. She teaches narrative writing to medical students and faculty at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, and is co-founder and director of the Taos Writing Retreat for Health Professionals. She co-wrote the script for the movie Breakin’ 2 is Electric Boogaloo (Cannon,1984), worked as a script reader for Tri-Star Pictures, wrote a couple of feature sceenplays that garnered staged readings and awards, and wrote, produced, and directed three short films: Girls, Pipes, and Wings.

 

 

 

Chris Ranney (Producer) began acting at the ripe old age of five as the poisonous flower in a Children’s Theater production of The Wizard of Oz. He’s carried on with his acting since then, continuing with theater on the side as he managed multi-million dollar projects for Air Force bases throughout Texas and Arizona. After several theater productions in Texas, he moved to New Mexico where he’s been involved in over 65 film productions and has produced four of these. Some of these productions include Black Blizzard for the History Channel, Sex and Lies in Sin City for the Lifetime Channel and Breaking Bad for the AMC Channel.

 

 

Brent Tiano (Producer) Brent has worked in film with Walt Disney Feature Animation and owned an animation and graphic production company called Industrial Artistry. He has fiscal experience in real estate development and a CCIM designation, which is the equivalent of a masters in commercial real estate and development. Brent was the Associate Producer on Testament and has several projects in various stages of production. Brent was a founding board member, who was active in the creation of the Albuquerque Film Festival. This combination of film experience, real estate investment experience and ability to bring projects together are some of the benefits he brings to the team.

 

 

Corey Weintraub (Director of Photography) has created and shot dozens of short films in New Mexico — independently, through the Duke City Shootout, for the 48 Hour Film Project, and as a key member of Trifecta + Entertainment. He served as Director of Photography on Sweetie, the top American 48 Hour Film Project film of 2007 that became an official selection of the Cannes Film Festival that year. He won the best cinematography award in the 2009 48 Hour Film Project in New Mexico. As a member of the Cinematographers Guild of America, Corey has worked as a Camera Assistant on such films as Appaloosa, No Country for Old Men, Astronaut Farmer and many more. Corey currently works as the key 2nd AC for the TV series Crash.

 

 

Scott Christopher Clark (Production Designer), a visual artist, began as a painter. His desire to create more movement in his paintings brought him first to fine art animation, where the shorts he created played at film festivals throughout the world and received several awards for their unique quality. His developing interests in collaboration and storytelling led to storyboarding for other people’s films, and, finally, to production design of narrative film, including the shorts Echoes from Juniper Canyon (2004) and Mr. Willaby’s Journal (2009), and the features These Days (2006) and Periphery (2008).

 

 

 

Sterling Grant III (Editor) shot his first photograph at age 5 and began acting in commercials by the age of 10. He graduated from the Naval Film School in 1991, and in 1992 began making documentaries for the Military in Naples, Italy, where he was awarded several Navy Achievement Medals for his films. In 1998, he joined his father’s Albuquerque production company, Sterling Productions, earning over 50 Addy Awards for his producing, directing and editing skills. Sterling has acted, directed, produced, written, judged, and edited a variety of New Mexico films such as “Father Road,” “Gears,” and “Sympathy for the Devil,” and has taught directing and editing for the University of New Mexico. In 2010, Sterling joined the full service post and production company halflife digital where he uses his poetic vision to spearhead the editing division. Sadly, Sterling died from complications of a motorcycle accident on Ocotber 14, 2013.

 

 

 

C.K. Barlow (Composer and Sound Designer) has created music for several New Mexico-based independent films including Dusty McGowan’s Mickey, Faith Strongheart’s Linda, as in Beautiful, Tyrrell Cummings’ Simple Sixteen, and Julie Reichert’s Wings. Barlow has licensed multiple pieces to film/TV music libraries and has provided original scores for dozens of live theater and dance projects. She received her Master’s degree in Music Composition from the University of New Mexico, has been published in MIT’s Computer Music Journal and has been interviewed about her work for Leonardo Music Journal.
